CRAA Case Study

Lansing’s Capital City Airport is the first stop for thousands of travelers en route to the world. And following its January 2008 renovation, the airport’s website, www.flylansing.com, is now poised to provide stronger support to the community than ever.

Problem:

The site needed to deliver an enormous amount of information, including volumes of constantly updating data, to multiple audiences in a transparent way. Rates, booking engines, current flight and weather data, community maps, and travel agent programs were just a few of the variables that needed to be included, all while adhering to the airport’s new brand image.

Solution:

We created an intuitive navigation system to help visitors find the information they need with a minimum of clicks. Secure logins give travel agents and Travel Trust members access to protected areas, while simple tabs and menus direct other visitors straight to their destinations. Artemis teamed with nPorta to provide powerful booking engines, capable of reserving anything from a flight and hotel room to an entire tour or cruise. Also new to the site are real-time reports of weather and flight status and an exciting interactive map highlighting hotels, restaurants, and other attractions in the Lansing area.

Features:

  • Completely new design adheres to FlyLansing.com’s new brand image and best practices in web usability
  • Integrated real-time arrivals/departures and flight radar
  • Seamless online booking engines for flights, hotels, car rentals, and cruises
  • Revised information architecture, promoting logical and intuitive navigation
  • Interactive visitor’s map based on Microsoft Live Earth
  • Secure login for travel agents and business Travel Trust members
